Humber, Thames, Dogger

l'm bored. Have l really just typed that in this space? The weather is horrid. More rain now, more rain to come & more rain forecast together with strong northerly winds and all this in Flaming June. I can now see why it's called 'flaming'!

Today's pictures are off nice, sunny weather. The lovely weather that summer holidays are filled with. Clear blue skies, nice warm temperatures, balmy sea breezes, yes, l remember them well.

l tell you what, it must be truly awful if you're taking your annual holiday in this sort of weather. No wonder that there are so many long faces around, though the exception to that must be this weekend's Glastonbury Festival, here people seem to be positively glowing! l was reminiscing with today's staff that l was too young for Woodstock now l'm too 'old' for Galstonbury having to make do with watching it on the box, with the volume turned up REALLY LOUD. Pardon? Caught Rufus Wainright, The Frattellis & Soft Fury Animals all of whom l rather enjoyed. How sad is that, sat in front of the TV with your 18 year old son, enjoying the same music! Certainly didn't happen when l was a teenager, comments along the lines of 'do you call THAT music?' & 'turn it DOWN!' or even 'you'll go deaf listening to THAT that loud!'. Oh well, l can still hear & l'm not into listening to the Inkspots quiete yet!

Whoa dude, [getting the terminology right] the sun is seeping through those soggy clouds up there.....

Stepson Two is playing at 3.30pm today in the Orange tent but alas no VIP tickets for us - no tickets at all in fact. Probably would feel like an old imposter if I was there (although there are loads of folks in the audience who look old enough to know better). Really enjoyed Arcade Fire,(on the tv) and Amy Winehouse, liked the interveiw with Rufus Wainwright. Ok will stop now as I sound tragic.

No dear it is not the sun coming out it is the sky disintergrating as it has become too waterlogged.

I thought Glastonbury had become very middle aged middle class now, or so my neice tells me!!

No I of course remember the Isle of Wight Festival!! Took years before they could use that land for farming again!!

Perculiar weather me thinks. I just wish it would warm up so we can put the paddling pool together and wash the dog.
I've never been to Glastonbury. I haven't a clue how people can enjoy walking through all that mud!

Just watched the news and they look like they are loving the rain in Glastonbury.

I drive my eldest mad as always singing along to his music (Kaiser Chiefs/Razorlight/Snow Patrol!)

At least you are not as sad as me going to see 'Take That later this year!!!
I went last year (and their tours 10-12 years ago) But these days are the best-like a giant hen party!! Now THAT is sad Muddy Boots!!

warm wishes

Love Rufus Wainwright too - do you know his aunt's and mother's music - Kate and Anna McGarrigle. I sometimes surprise Lillypad by knowing some of 'her' music - it's like a 'aha - gotcha!' moment.

You're never too old to go to Glastonbury!

The year we went, it was glorious sunshine.

Am typing this and watching The Killers - they are excellent.

It is not at all sad to like the same stuff as your kids, to like the same stuff as your mother that IS old, so I guess as The Rabble like The Killers, Kaisers, Fratts etc and so do we, that makes THEM sad

This weather is unreal. Am off to France next week (not the Chateau, sadly)so it had better be good over there! I was thinking the same thing as I watched Glastonbury the other night - how our parent's generation would never have dreamed of intruding on our culture! I loved Rufus Wainright.

Caught up and the write up and piccies of your visit to the south definately add to the desperation to visit. Oh for a lottery win unfortunately I would have to do it first.

I love people watching especially on beaches because I get very bored sunbathing otherwise and with my sunhat and glasses it is so easy to do. I also love looking into peoples supermarket trolleys it is the only incentive to going to them.

Now I have missed Glastonbury but is it the Super fury animals you meant because if so my Aunt used to do voluntary work with one of the band member's mothers and talk about the son all the time but it was ages before I made the connection even though I liked the group.
